Adam Pengilly competed in his second Olympic Winter Games at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Pengilly placed 18th in the skeleton competition.

At the Vancouver 2010 Pengilly was elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission. He received the most votes (615) from the total number of ballots accepted (1,902), which represented 75.3% of the Olympic athletes in Vancouver and Whistler.

Pengillu sums up the skeleton in three simple words – fun, exciting and challenging. And this is an athlete who knows all about competing on a sliding track, having started his wintersport career as a bobsleigh athlete before moving over to skeleton.

Pengilly was coach to Team GB’s women’s bobsleigh pair at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games, but then decided to “take charge of his own destiny” by returning to competition as a skeleton athlete. At his debut Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 Pengilly finished in eighth.
