Andrew Young represented Team GB in cross-country skiing at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Games were Young's first Olympic Winter Games.

At the Vancouver 2010 Games Young placed 60th in the individual sprint and 74th in th 15km individual freestyle.

Young turned 18 during the Winter Olympics, and says he cannot remember a time when he did not ski. Not surprising, perhaps, bearing in mind that his father Roy is the coach of the British cross-country team.

In 2008, he set a new record by becoming the youngest male skier ever to start a World Cup race – he came home in a creditable 77th position. By then, he had already won the Austrian Championship a title he claimed at the age of 16.

When not participating in this exhausting sport, Young likes to relax by taking part in track cycling and mountain biking.
