Penny Coomes is ice dance partner to Nick Buckland and they represented Team GB at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

The Vancouver Games were Coomes and Buckland's debut Olympic Winter Games and they placed 20th, scoring a personal best in their free dance.

Coomes and Buckland went to the same school and are now both students are Nottingham Trent, where Coomes reads psyhcology. They have been skating together for four years.

Coomes and Buckland placed second at the British Championships 2009.

At the 2008 British Championships Coomes broker her foot, but skated through it and went on to win! She then competed at the World Junior Championships before having surgery on it at the end of the season.

Coomes started skating at the age of eight and trains six days out of seven and  up to two-three times a day. Her coach is her stepfather Philip Askew.
