Ticket Information

Venues

There are a total of nine competition venues to accommodate the fifteen sport disciplines. Six venues are in the Vancouver region and three in the Whistler area. Sports will be based as follows:

Vancouver: curling, figure skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating, speed skating.

Cypress Mountain (West Vancouver): freestyle skiing, snowboarding.

Whistler: alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, cross country skiing, luge, nordic combined, skeleton, ski jumping.

Ceremonies

Opening and Closing Ceremonies are unique, large-scale celebrations combining the Olympic spirit with the personality of the host city, province and country. They are a spectacular celebration of the world’s greatest athletes.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on February 12, 2010 and the Closing Ceremony on February 28, 2010. Both Ceremonies will be staged at BC Place in downtown Vancouver.

Each evening, BC Place in Vancouver and the Whistler Medals Plaza will host Victory Ceremonies where the medallists will step up to the podium to receive their Olympic medals. A concert finale honouring the medallists will round off the evening.
