Zoe Gillings represented Team GB  in snowboard cross at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Games were Gillings' second Olympic Winter Games, she made her Olympic debut at the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games where she reached the quarter finals of the boardercross event.

At the Vancouver Games Gillings made the B Final but unfortunately an injury sustained in an earlier round left her unable to compete in the run and she placed eighth.

If Gillings had taken medical advice, her sporting career would have been very different. In 2005 she shattered her foot in an accident and was told that she wouldn’t be able to compete again. Instead, through a combination of determination and skill, she has become recognised as one of the world’s top snowboard cross racers.

Gillings finished last season ranked fifth in the world and was placed in the top four in half the World Cup competitions.

Gillings is originally from the Isle of Man, and enjoys the fact that a strain of rhubarb is named after her family.
